When finding Chinese kids for adoption, you need to concern yourself about whether or not you can adopt kids from China and then you have to figure out the best way to keep the child happy, and one of the best ways is to learn their native language. This will not only break the language barrier, allowing the child to communicate with you, but it will also show Officials how serious you are about this adoption. Parents, however, need to concern themselves with all of the new requirements needed to adopt kids from China on top of everything else.

The new regulations were put into place so that the kids go to the very best homes, with only the most serious of people. To some, these new regulations may seem intrusive, but they were instilled with the best of intentions. Lets take a quick look at some of the requirements that need to be met when looking at Chinese kids for adoption.

Marital Status Couples by their definition is a man and woman must be married for a minimum of two years, unless there was a previous divorce and then the minimum becomes five years. Furthermore, only two previous divorces are allowed within the couple.

Age Only those couple between the ages of 30 and 50 may adopt kids.

Residency While they do not require you to live in China, regulations do state that at least one of the adoptive parents needs to be present in China for the finalizing of the adoption process. If only one parent is present, then a power of attorney is needed for the other parent/spouse, which needs to be authenticated and notarized by the appropriate Chinese Embassy Officials.

Income At least one spouse must be working, and bringing home a minimum of $10,000 per person within the household, including the newly adopted child. Unemployment, welfare and other various government funds cannot be included within this amount. Furthermore, the family must have assets worth at least $80,000.

Health In order to consider Chinese kids for adoption, Officials want to ensure a happy and healthy life for the entire family. Having said that, they will not allow you to adopt kids from China if you have any of the following disorders/conditions:

Blindness in one or both eyes

Hearing loss in both ears or loss of language function you are exempt from this if you are willing to adopt a child with the same conditionsNonfunctioning or malfunctioning limbs or torso for any reasonAn actively infectious disease

A severe disease that may affect your life expectancy, such as lupus, malignant tumors, epilepsy, etc.

If you have had a major organ transplant within the last ten years

Severe mental disorders requiring longterm treatment more than two years, including anxiety, mania and depression, etc.

Severe obesity, with a BMI body Mass Index of 40 or higher

Ill stop there, but there are several other requirements that need to be met as well. However, do not forget the child in all of this. The adoption process can get messy because of all of these new requirements, but it is vital to remember that this not only concerns you, but it concerns another little one A little one that will probably get confused at some point or another, especially when things become finalized. So make sure that you go the extra mile and learn a bit of Chinese when thinking about Chinese kids for adoption. Everyone will be happy you did.
