One Injured In Rutherford County Crash
MURFREESBORO, Tenn. One person was killed and another injured in a singlevehicle crash in Rutherford County.Officials said the Mustang left the roadway and launched into the tree. The driver and passenger were trapped inside for quite some time before anyone saw the car.Emergency medical technicians pronounced the driver dead on the scene. He was later identified by police as 24yearold Xavier C. MSI R7970 Lightning Radeon HD 7970 3GB Video Card Review
Earlier this month MSI launched the companies AMD Radeon HD 7970 based Lightning series video card, the R7970 Lightning. The MSI Lightning series takes highend graphics cards and turns them into monsters with custom PCB designs as well as GPU coolers and then includes topquality components that increase the cards stability and endurance, making it ideal for overclocking purposes. When AMD first released the AMD Radeon HD 7970 3GB video card in December 2011 we were impressed with the card with the stock cooler and the 925MHz core and 1375 MHz 5500 MHz effective GDDR5 memory clock speeds. The MSI R7970 Lightning might be three months late to the game, but this card might be worth the wait for AMD fans that didnt want to buy the reference design. The MSI R7970 Lightning is clocked at 1070 MHz on the core and 1400 MHz on the memory 5600 MHz effective. This is an impressive 15.7% clock increase on the core and a mediocre 1.8% on the memory.
Looking at the front of the MSI R7970 Lightning graphics card youll see a video card that looks nothing like the AMD Radeon HD 7970 reference design. MSI engineers came up with their own PCB design and GPU cooling solution for this card, so it has been designed from the ground up to be more robust. MSI has included Military Class III components on it along with the Twin Frozr IV dualfan cooler. On the custom PCB, MSI beefed up the power design to a 14+2+1 Phase PWM solution! With a 17 phase PWM design and a digital PWM controller, the MSI R7970 Lightning can offer more current output to the GPU and memory to ensure. On top of that MSI allows for the voltage adjustment of the GPU, Memory and the PCIe slot with the MSI Afterburner utility. MSI has done a number of things to make this card stand out from the crowd!

noted that the metal fan shroud extends past the PCB, so the true length of the card is 11.75 in length and the height of the card up to 5 inThe fan blades have air channels located along the the edge of the fan blades that help increase the surface area. MSI says that this adjustment increased airflow by 20% compared to conventional fan. MSI also uses dust removal technology with the Twin Frozr IV, which means that when you turn the system on the fans spin in reverse for 30 seconds to blow the dust out and then return to the regular spinning direction.
If you look closely at the 10cm PWM fan in the image above youll see a small green LED light diode between the fan blades. Each fan has a single blue LED light that is on when the card is running.
The MSI R7970 Lightning has a feature called GPU Reactor, which is located under that blue and silver plastic cap that easily pops off the back of the card. The GPU Reactor is designed to supply extra GPU power for maximum overclocking stability. It also helps to eliminate GPU power noise ripple and already installed when you buy a R7970 Lightning card. The image above shows what the GPU Reactor PCB looks like and as you can see it has eight tantalum capacitors on it with a power feed on the going into the side of the PCB.
If you dont want to use the GPU Reactor you can simply unplug it and not use it. When we first got the MSI R7970 Lightning we thought this was nothing more than a marketing gimmick and something that could have been placed on the PCB rather than a daughter PCB card. We reached out to MSI to get a comment on the GPU Reactor and why it wasnt placed on the PCB to begin with.
The GPU reactor is meant to be an addon board that provides additional power to the GPU for extreme overclocking such as LN2. We could have just added it on the regular PCB, but as you may notice, the PCB is already overcrowded with the existing amount of power phases thrown on. keeping it within a 2slot design. Thus, the decision was made to have it as an addon PCB for LN2 overclocking, and for regular usage especially SLI configurations the user can remove it to prevent the card from taking up 3 slots. I hope this answers your question on that. For regular overclocking on air, the GPU reactor is not needed to achieve maximum OC, but it most certainly does not hurt. MSI USA
As you can see if you only plan on air cooling this is a pointless feature, but would help those that plan on overclocking with subzero cooling methods like LN2. We measured and found that MSI is using standard 53mm mounting
holes, so if you plan on changing the GPU cooler or adding a water block
at a later date you can easily do so and this is the dimension you need to beAlong the top edge of the MSI R7970 Lightning youll find three voltage check points that you can plug your volt meter directly into to get accurate readings. From left to right you have the VGPU, VMEM and VVDDCI check points. You can adjust the GPU, Memory and VDDCI voltage settings in afterburner and then check the readings here without having to do any hard mods on the PCB itself! The MSI Afterburner utility also shows the temperature of the GPU, Memory and VRM MOSFET in the utility.
When it comes to video outputs the MSI R7970 Lightning has four gold colored miniDisplayPort connectors, a singlelink DVII and a singlelink DVID outputs. All AMD Radeon HD 7970 cards support up to six DisplayPort displays and this card is no exception. When we plugged our Dell 30inch monitor in by using one of the DVI ports we quickly remembered that neither are duallink and they wont run at 2560x1600 due to obvious limitations. If you have a DualLink DVI monitor that only offers DualLink DVI, youre going to need an Active DisplayPort to DualLink DVI connector. MSI does include a miniDisplayPort to HDMI adapter with the card, so that will keep most people from having to buy adapters.

MSI has fitted the R7970 Lighting with two 8pin power connectors. MSI says that the R7970 Lighting requires a 6500W or greater power supply with two 150W 8pin PCIe connectors. With 300 Watts of power coming though the 8pin connectors and 75 Watts through the PCI Express x16 slot, this means this card has a total of 375 Watts that it can bring it when needed! Good think MSI is using their Military Class III components CopperMOS, HiC capacitors, golden solid state chokes and dark solid capacitors as they might be needed after this card is punished with some extreme overclocks.

PATTERSON Hon. Roger A. Tricinelli, age 79, passed away May 7, 2010 with his family by his side in Carmel, NY. Mr. Tricinelli was born July 30, 1930 in the Bronx, NY to the late Edward and Victoria Jeremiah Tricinelli. Roger was a proud Veteran where he served in the US Army during the Korean War. Roger is predeceased by Elizabeth A. Teater 2002 who he married on September 3, 1955 in Mt Vernon NY. Mr. Tricinelli was the Town Justice in Patterson, NY since 1980. He was employed by the Dept. of Motor Vehicles of Carmel/Brewster NY. Roger held the position of Chief for the Patterson Vol. Fire Dept. from 197677 and he was also the constable for the Town of Patterson. Mr. Tricinelli will be best remembered by his dedication and service, but most of all for his love and devotion to his family and friends. Mr. Tricinelli is survived by his wife Veronica. His loving children Cheryl Basch Frank, Roger E. Lisa Tricinelli, Stephen E. Robyn Tricinelli, Christopher and Francesco. Also, his cherished grandchildren KeriLynn, Timothy Roger, the late Anthony Tricinelli, Megan, Daniel, Emma, Jacob and Chloe. Also survived by his sister RoseMarie Deroian and his sisterinlaw Joan Fusco. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday May 11, 2010 at 11 am at St. Johns Catholic Church in Pawling, NY. Interment will follow at the Maple Ave. Cemetery in Patterson, NY. Family may receive friends Monday May 10th from 25 and 79 pm at Dwyer Funeral Home 23 South Street Patterson, NY 12563 8458783161. The temperature in Chennai has begun to climb. Hardly surprising since it is summer. But, the heat that is being generated over the Sri Lankan Tamils issue is definitely surprising, given that the protests have been prolonged and widespread.
When political parties rake up the Sri Lankan Tamils issue, you can be sure that elections are round the corner and everyone is getting ready to milk this issue. This time too, Parliamentary elections are due in a year, and parties in the State hope to reap dividends from raising the tempo on the plight of Tamils in the islandnation.
If M. Karunanidhi could pull his party DMK out of the UPA Government at the Centre because the latter was not keen on making the wording of the United Nations Human Rights Commission stronger, then his arch rival Chief Minister J. Jayalilathaa could do one better. She said Tamil Nadu would not be able to provide security to IPL matches in Chennai that featured Sri Lankan players and officials. The Assembly passed a resolution calling for referendum in Sri Lanka for a separate Tamils homeland. She wanted the Prime Minister to not attend the Commonwealth meet in Sri Lanka.
When political parties protest, one is naturally sceptical. Not without reason. For, the DMK was in power in Tamil Nadu when all the atrocities Sri Lanka is accused of perpetrating happened, but the party did not think it fit to withdraw from the UPA. It just couldn afford to, as the DMK needed the Congress I support to be in power. And, Jayalalithaa said, in a war, there were bound to be civilian casualties.
But what is definitely surprising is the sustained protest in colleges, because of which they were closed down for quite a while. Students from institutions like Loyola College and IIT, who generally do not demonstrate their affiliations one way or the other to the point of being apathetic, have joined in the protests. What is behind this, one wonders.
Even more baffling is the protest by employees of IT companies in Chennai. They were out on the streets one day expressing their solidarity with the plight of the Lankan Tamils and demanding a stronger resolution in the UNHRC.
A friend attributed this to social media. Any takers for this reasoning?

When the DMK was in power in the State, there was a move to provide land for the foreign missions along the Old Mahabalipuram Road. Some consular representatives even went and saw the area. It would have been ideal to shift all the foreign missions to outside the city, in terms of providing security cover. Will any forward thinking Government in the State take this up, please?
The temperature in Chennai has begun to climb. Hardly surprising since it is summer. But, the heat that is being generated over the Sri Lankan Tamils issue is definitely surprising, given that the protests have been prolonged and widespread.
When political parties rake up the Sri Lankan Tamils issue, you can be sure that elections are round the corner and everyone is getting ready to milk this issue. This time too, Parliamentary elections are due in a year, and parties in the State hope to reap dividends from raising the tempo on the plight of Tamils in the islandnation.
If M. Karunanidhi could pull his party DMK out of the UPA Government at the Centre because the latter was not keen on making the wording of the United Nations Human Rights Commission stronger, then his arch rival Chief Minister J. Jayalilathaa could do one better. She said Tamil Nadu would not be able to provide security to IPL matches in Chennai that featured Sri Lankan players and officials. The Assembly passed a resolution calling for referendum in Sri Lanka for a separate Tamils homeland. She wanted the Prime Minister to not attend the Commonwealth meet in Sri Lanka.
When political parties protest, one is naturally sceptical. Not without reason. For, the DMK was in power in Tamil Nadu when all the atrocities Sri Lanka is accused of perpetrating happened, but the party did not think it fit to withdraw from the UPA. It just couldn afford to, as the DMK needed the Congress I support to be in power. And, Jayalalithaa said, in a war, there were bound to be civilian casualties.
But what is definitely surprising is the sustained protest in colleges, because of which they were closed down for quite a while. Students from institutions like Loyola College and IIT, who generally do not demonstrate their affiliations one way or the other to the point of being apathetic, have joined in the protests. What is behind this, one wonders.
Even more baffling is the protest by employees of IT companies in Chennai. They were out on the streets one day expressing their solidarity with the plight of the Lankan Tamils and demanding a stronger resolution in the UNHRC.
A friend attributed this to social media. Any takers for this reasoning?

100 YEARS AGO Nov. 29, 1909 The State Charity Board and the Penitentiary Board, both of which will meet next Monday, will have one or more important questions to dispose of. At the former meeting of the Charity Board, Dr. Dibrell, State Treasurer James L. Hart were appointed a committee to prepare a plan for the segregation and proper housing and care of the tuberculosis patients at the State Hospital for Nervous Diseases, with the request that they report such suggestions as they may have to offer at the December meeting of the board.
100 YEARS AGO Nov. 25, 1909 Beyond the fact that the Arkansas Railroad Commission by talking with railroad commissioners of other states was able to obtain many valuable pointers the recent meeting of the National Association of Railroad Commissioners with the members of the Interstate Commerce Commission was not of any great benefit to the Arkansas commissioners or any other Southern or Western commission, according to Chairman Allen of the Arkansas commission, who reached Little Rock yesterday.
BASEBALL Vizquel signs with White Sox Infielder Omar Vizquel agreed Monday to oneyear, $1,375,000 contract with the Chicago White Sox. That perception requires someone to shape it. For many of us, Donald Harington, the art professor at Fayetteville, was that someone. That was his great service to his native state and particularly the part of it he deeply absorbed as a Little Rock boy who spent the summers in the Ozarks. His novels form a core consciousness of the Arkansan, whatever that strange hybrid creature is.
DEAR CAROLYN: I do not get along with my sisterinlaw. She is nosy, rude and catty, and it is very difficult for me to be around her for more than a few minutes. However, it is important to my husband and me that we spend time with his brother and our nieces and nephews, and so we continue to be friendly and take whatever she dishes out asking how much things cost, opening drawers in our home, eating our food without asking, asking personal questions about our relationship, gossiping about other family members, talking nonstop about herself, etc..
Matt Melton knew he was getting to come home from Arkansas Childrens Hospital Wednesday afternoon. He just didnt know hed be coming home to more than 50 family, friends, neighbors and classmates waiting in his driveway. Stepping out of the burgundy Ford pickup, wearing a denim shirt, Wrangler jeans, boots and a black cowboy hat, 15yearold Melton walked toward the crowd of people who had traveled by car, truck and school bus for the welcome home surprise complete with banners, balloons and cake.

BGSU sponsors numerous semester or academic year programs in many countries worldwide. Each program is coordinated by a Bowling Green faculty member under the guidance and supervision of the Office of Education Abroad International Partnerships. Students receive BGSU credit and grades when studying abroad on a BGSU program and will be registered under a BGSU course number. Bowling Green students can use the majority of their institutional, state and federal financial aid when participating on a Bowing Green program.
Short Term ProgramsStudents have the opportunity to study abroad on shortterm programs through Bowling Green State University. Shortterm programs range from 110 weeks and occur during the spring break, winter break or summer sessions. BGSU sponsors approximately several programs in a variety of countries worldwide with program options varying yeartoyear. Each program is coordinated by a Bowling Green faculty member under the guidance and supervision of the Office of EAIP. Students receive BGSU credit and will be registered under a BGSU course number when studying on a BGSU program. Students participating in affiliated programs may be eligible to utilize institutional, state, and federal aid to pay for expenses related to these study abroad programs. Students will earn regular BGSU credit and grades for their coursework completed on affiliated programs. Programspecific scholarships and grants may also be offered through the affiliated organizations directly.
