Master Composter Class offered through University of Illinois Extension

Want to know more about composting, such as just what are greens and browns? Want to educate others about this wonderful practice? Look no further than Univeristy of Illinois Extension program of Cook County. Starting next weekend October 4th 18th, this 15 hour training in composting and compost education begins! The classes run three consecutive Saturdays from 9am 3pm at the Chicago High School for Agricultural Sciences 3857 West 111th Street. The cost for this course is $75.00.

What really sets this course apart from other compost trainings is that it, in fact, trains YOU to be a trainer. Part of the requirements to finish the program beyond the 15 hours in the classroom are 10 hours of answering the Rotline and 10 hours of teaching groups how to properly compost. What a way to share your sustainable knowledge!
